Razorpay Agentic Payments is India's first AI-powered conversational payment solution. What is Razorpay Agentic Payments?

Razorpay Agentic Payments enables:

One-time authorisation — Customers set and approve a spending limit upfront; AI can then complete payments within that limit.
Frictionless checkout — No PINs or redirections for subsequent transactions in a single session.
Full control — Real-time visibility and instant control over limits and spends.

It is designed for in-merchant app assistants and conversational flows: users can discover and pay by talking to an AI assistant, with payments powered by UPI and Razorpay's infrastructure.

How it fits UCP and ACP

UCP (Universal Commerce Protocol): Defines how merchants expose checkout and catalog to agents. Razorpay's solution can sit behind your checkout endpoints so that when an agent initiates payment, your backend uses Razorpay for UPI/authorisation.
ACP (Agentic Commerce Protocol): Defines state machines and flows for instant checkout in ChatGPT and other agents. Razorpay Agentic Payments aligns with the “agent-initiated payment with user consent” model—authorisation upfront, then delegated execution.

End-to-end integration overview

1. Discovery and eligibility

Confirm your use case: in-merchant app assistants (e.g. Vi, bigbasket) or similar conversational commerce.
Sign up for early access on Razorpay Agentic Payments and review Razorpay's current API/docs for agentic flows.
Ensure your product feed and checkout flow are structured for agents (see Feed specs).

Implement one-time authorisation: customer sets a spending limit and approves delegation to the AI/agent.
Store and enforce the limit; expose a clear way for users to view and revoke (full control).
Your backend should accept “agent-initiated” payment requests (e.g. from your app’s AI assistant) and call Razorpay only after validating the request is within the user’s authorised scope.

3. Payment execution

Integrate Razorpay’s APIs for the agentic payment flow (exact endpoints and webhooks will be provided by Razorpay; refer to their developer docs once you have access).
Use UPI (including UPI Circle and UPI Reserve Pay as applicable) for settlement.
For frictionless checkout, ensure you do not trigger additional PIN or redirect steps for subsequent transactions in the same session when the user has already authorised.

4. Trust and compliance

Surface clear consent and limits to the user (one-time authorisation + full control).
Follow Razorpay’s and RBI’s guidelines for payment aggregators and UPI. Razorpay is an RBI-authorised payment aggregator.
Align with UCP and ACP trust and security expectations where your flow is exposed to external agents.

5. Testing and go-live

Test authorisation, in-session payments, and limit changes in sandbox.
